The primary compound in  Stanabol Depot® is called an 'oxygenated DHEA metabolite' 3beta,7alpha-dihydroxyandrost-5-ene-17-one (7-alpha-hydroxy DHEA) that not only helps promote a leaner, more aesthetic physique, but also helps control estrogen and cortisol levels. 7-a Hydroxy DHEA is one of three 'oxygenated DHEA metabolites', which cannot be converted into DHEA after supplementation due to the conversion of DHEA into these oxygenated metabolites occurring in only one direction rather than a multidirectional function (A -> B only, rather than A being interchangeable with B)

7a-Hydroxy-Dehydroepiandrosterone also known as 7a-Hydroxy or 7a-OH-DHEA, is a cortisol controlling agent and metabolite of DHEA. It prevents the enzyme cortisone from converting into cortisol, stopping cortisol at the source. Cortisol is the stress hormone. It makes losing belly fat almost impossible to lose, and is responsible for putting your body in a catabolic state that burns muscle. In regards to activation of 'thermogenic enzymes' 7a-Hydroxy  as well as the similar structures 7β-hydroxyDHEA and 7-ketoDHEA and are all active, although 7-a Hydroxy is the strongest for "fat burning"; DHEA per se is ineffective. Induction of these enzymes appears to reduce mitochondrial membrane potential and increase substrate oxidation rates, which appears to be similar to thyroid hormones in action. When looking at the androgen receptor, all three oxygenated metabolites of DHEA show little efficacy in activating the androgen receptor. A small Chinese study showed 7a-Hydroxy has been shown to increase circulating Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and both active thyroid hormones (T3 and T4) following usage, with effects lasting for up to 2 weeks after stopping usage.

The second ingredient in Stanabol Depot® is Androstenetriol or Androstene-3 beta-7 beta-17 beta-triol (AET), which represents a key naturally occurring 7-hydroxy dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) metabolite produced from the adrenal gland. Many of the 'Fat burning' functions initially attributed to DHEA are now thought to be properties of these oxygenated metabolites, particularly AET.

The last compound found in Stanabol Depot® is Epiandrosterone, which is a precursor to Stanolone, a powerful hormone. Epiandrosterone does not aromatise to estrogen, so bloating and gyno are not a concern, and this compound will not produce remarkable size gains in comparison to other prohormones, but it is especially good for strength gains and muscle density and definition, which makes it great to use during a cutting cycle.
